Trotz der kontinuierlichen Impulse der beiden beherrschenden The-men – die Frage, wann die Fed den nächsten Zinsschritt wagt und das EU-Referendum in Großbritannien – können die Märkte sehr eindeutig als langweilig beschrieben werden. Bei geringer Liquidität bewegen sich die Aktien- und Kreditmärkte seit März in engen Bandbreiten und auch die EZB ist nicht mehr in der Lage, neue Impulse zu setzen. Genau hier sehen wir den entscheidenden Zusammenhang zwischen der Geldpolitik und der Entwicklung der Finanzmärkte: Wenn sie schon keine realwirtschaftlichen Impulse geben konnte, so hat die exzessive Liquiditätsversorgung der EZB zumindest die Finanzmärkte beflügelt. Der letzte Coup der EZB, die Ankündigung des Ankaufs von Unternehmensanleihen, indes verpuffte bisher weitgehend Spread-neutral. Und es gibt durchaus gute Gründe, die dafür sprechen, dass die EZB ihr Pulver weitestgehend verschossen hat. Es lassen sich zudem einige negative langfristige Effekte der EZB-Politik ableiten, denen wir uns in diesem Newsletter zuwenden werden. Das Fazit vorab: Auch wenn es niemand so eindringlich interpretieren kann wie Wendy James, sollten wir alle der EZB die obigen Textzeilen vortragen: I don’t want your money honey – I want your love!
